The Mizuno Pro 221 irons are designed with a classic, Mizuno look at address, with a beveled topline to give a compact visual. While it may look compact, these design aspects allow the 221 to perform to the max.
A soft copper underlay under the nickel chrome finish provides the classic soft, Mizuno, feel. Mass has been redistributed from the heel to behind the muscle pad to provide a slightly muted sound. In blind tour tests this feel was preferred.
The shaping through the set tapers from larger long irons, to smaller short irons. This keeps the feeling of confidence in longer shots without sacrificing any feel for the control of your wedge and short irons.
